Say “Guten Tag” to the Ultimate Porsche 911

We’re in love with the high-performance version of the iconic German sports car, ya!

For 60 years—seriously, the first one rolled off the factory floor way-the-hell-back in 1963, when this was happening—the Porsche 911, with its distinctive teardrop shape, has endured as one of the greatest sports cars of all time. They’re fast (duh), but they’re also perfectly balanced and insanely fun to drive. (We also had this poster on our bedroom wall for the better half of the ’80s.) That’s why, as the German company releases the fastest-ever version, the GT3, for the 2014 model year, we’re schvitzing in our schnitzel.

A sticker price of just over $130,000 is chump change when you’re talking a 0 to 60 time of a rocket-like 3.3 seconds and a top end of almost 200mph. OK, so it’s one of the quickest cars out there, but the 911 GT3 wouldn’t be a world-class supercar without pairing those numbers with an all-leather-and-aluminum-appointed interior that’s fit for a kaiser. The lightweight construction of the car, like all Porsches, makes you question how something so seemingly delicate could be such a beast. (Just think of it as a sumo-wrestling ballerina.)
