You Can Now Own Adam Carolla’s Excellent Paul Newman Biopic

Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman has been released on DVD

Adam Carolla is a longtime fan of classic Nissan cars and racers, so it was no surprise when he decided to produce a documentary on the most famous Nissan racer of them all: academy award-winning actor Paul Newman.

Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman, which was released earlier this year, has now reached DVD for those who have the need to physically posses their favorite films. The documentary borrows part of its name from the 1969 film, Winning. Shooting classic film not only sparked Newman’s interest in racing, but it was also where he met his wife, Joanne Woodward.

Practicing the racing sequences for Winning so fascinated Newman that he embarked on a second career at age 47, ultimately scoring wins in some of racing’s premier events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona.

The film includes interviews with racing buddies like Sam Posie and Hollywood colleagues such as Tom Cruise, providing a rounded image of a driver who won four Sports Car Club of American national championships. List price for the DVD is $24.99, but for racing fans and film buffs alike, Carolla’s profile of Newman is priceless.
