FIFA, Christie’s, & Global Citizen Announce Historic World Cup Memorabilia Charity Auction
The exclusive online sale offers fans a chance to bid on authentic game-used soccer balls, signed national team jerseys, and Shakira’s halftime show outfits to fund global education.

Following the conclusion of what’s being called the “biggest sporting event in history,” soccer fans and collectors worldwide could soon have a historic opportunity to own a piece of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament. Christie’s and Global Citizen have officially announced an exclusive online charity auction called One Goal. Running from July 22-29, the sale will offer all lots with no reserve, meaning items will go to the highest bidder regardless of the minimum price.
The initiative aims to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which has set an ambitious target to raise $100 million. Christie’s says that proceeds will directly benefit grassroots organizations around the globe, focusing on expanding access to quality education and sports programs for children in impoverished communities.

The soccer-centric auction features an array of rare sports and entertainment memorabilia. Among the most anticipated items are authentic, game-used soccer balls from key matches across the three host nations. This includes the balls from the opening match in Mexico City, the Canadian opener in Toronto, the United States opening match at SoFi Stadium, and the highly coveted match ball from the final at MetLife Stadium.

Collectibles from the music world are also taking center stage, particularly items from the first-ever World Cup Final Halftime Show. Bidders can vie for outfits worn by Colombian pop superstar Shakira, including her attire from the official music video for the tournament song “Dai Dai” and her performance wardrobe from the final.

Additionally, the auction features an Earth Ball with a handwritten list of halftime performers by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, alongside jerseys signed by legendary player Lionel Messi, Santiago Gimenez, and the United States Men’s National Team.

This high-profile event comes on the heels of a historic month for Christie’s, which recently set the record for the largest memorabilia auction in history with the Jim Irsay collection, grossing over $105 million. Along with the sports gear, Christie’s is hosting a sister auction called Art of the Game, featuring massive, artist-designed soccer ball sculptures currently displayed across New York and New Jersey, with proceeds supporting local visual arts education.
