French matador Andy Younes got injured on the job on Sunday, and that ain't no bull.
Like the unfortunate Mexican bullfighter who required rectal surgery, and the Spanish matador who was gored in the throat, the 20-year-old Younes learned the hard way that when you mess with a bull, you get the horns.
After being gored by the angry animal, the young Frenchman—who was in the ring near his home city of Arles—was sent flying. And all of it was captured on camera.
The NY Post has more gory details:
The incident happened during a performance at the Feria de Paques Easter festivities on Sunday. The Easter Feria traditionally marks the start of the French bullfighting season, with Younes granted the privilege of performing in front of his home crowd.
The young matador entered the bullring for the first time as a 5-year-old child and has performed most of his life. Despite his time in the bullring being cut short by the goring, Younes received a standing ovation and was hailed as a hero as he departed the arena on the shoulders of fellow participants.
To balance the cosmic score, we recommend grilling up a nice piece of steak this evening—just make sure to offer up a quick cheers to this mangled matador before digging in.
