WWE Beauty Paige Announces Retirement After Sustaining Brutal Neck Injury

“This will always be my house.”

WWE fans gave one of pro wrestling’s baddest babes an honorary sendoff at WrestleMania 34. 

After suffering a career-threatening injury last year, Paige brought an end to her four years with the organization in the same exact city she became the youngest athlete ever to win the Divas title at age 21.  

“Unfortunately due to neck injuries, I can no longer perform in this ring as an in-ring competitor,” she said. The crowd responded with two chants—”Thank you, Paige,” and “This is your house!”—that elicited an understandably emotional response from the British beauty. 

She fought back tears as she ended her speech by saying, “This will always be my house.” 

Paige had just returned to the ring after a 17-month hiatus that began after she sustained an initial neck injury that required surgery. During that time, a sex tape scandal arose after hackers accessed and spread her private nude pictures and videos across the internet. 

Then, at an untelevised house show in December of 2017, she was kicked by Sasha banks during a six-woman tag team event and exited the venue on a stretcher.

Rumors that she would retire first began circulating in January, but now it’s official.
