Showtime Just Released The First Promo Video For Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor and It’s Absolutely Badass

Will it be the fight of the century after all?

Predictions that UFC superstar Conor McGregor is doomed to be obliterated by undefeated boxing champ Floyd Mayweather be damned, Showtime is making sure we know this is an event. 

We say that because this trailer for the half-billion dollar August 26 match-up goes all in on an epic, one-for-the-ages feel. It puts McGregor in the unaccustomed position of underdog, underscoring Mayweather’s potential by hyping his record and his effortless, businesslike approach to the whole thing.  

McGregor totally buys into the cinematic nature of the upcoming bout. He posted the video above on Twitter late Friday with a quote from Ivan Drago, the villain in Rocky IV: “If he dies, he dies.” 

As the odds have been against a McGregor win since the beginning, chances are great no one’s going to die on August 26th—and the UFC champ will walk away just a little more battered than usual with enough money to buy a few more Rolls-Royces with his face on the side.
