This Exclusive Island Retreat Is the Best New Luxury Hotel of 2019
With 15 overwater villas, Kudadoo Maldives is a solar-powered hotspot for wealthy world travelers.
Luxury Travel Intelligence, the members-only online resource for affluent travelers, has named its best new luxury hotel for 2019. The winner is the entirely solar-powered Kudadoo Maldives, a posh private island retreat with 15 gorgeous overwater bungalows.
Business Insider reports that guests at the adults-only resort get 24-hour butler service and have access to a restaurant, bar, spa, beach and an infinity pool. Arrival is by boat or the resort’s private seaplane. There are 100 staff members and the property can accommodate up to 50 guests at any one time.
The Maldives is one of the hottest destinations at the moment, and is frequented by celebs like the Beckhams, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to the London Mirror. They come for the islands’ “picture-perfect beaches, crystal-clear waters and seriously luxurious resorts” like Kudadoo and Baros Maldives, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
The Indian Ocean oasis has surpassed other destinations thanks to new developments like the world’s first underwater hotel villa, which goes for $50,000 a night, a resort that’s home to an underwater sculpture museum.
Kudadoo’s entire property can also be rented out for private parties.
984 solar panels provide all the necessary power for the eco-friendly escape, while the buildings are constructed of sustainably-sourced wood. There are one and two-bedroom villas which start at $3,400 and $4,800 per night respectively.
Not half bad considering the one-of-a-kind experience you’ll be in for.
