An Italian Sunglasses Brand Is Reissuing Andy Warhol’s Iconic Shades
These stylish retro frames will have you looking like an artist in no time.
Luxury Italian eyewear company Super has joined forces with the Andy Warhol Foundation on an exclusive new set of sun and eyeglasses exactly like the ones the iconic Pop Art superstar used to wear, with some modern upgrades.
The limited edition frames, made by hand in Italy, are aptly named The Iconic. The sunglasses feature Warhol’s signature silver hue with matching ultra-flat glass silver mirrored lenses by Barberini.
The optical frame is in a slightly tinted shade of crystal acetate which Warhol used to favor as it complimented his silver wig. Both models feature Warhol’s signature on the arms and come complete with a special edition leather case and packaging to commemorate the collaboration.
The two limited edition models were only given to a select few retailers, so supply is low. Haute online eyewear boutique Eyegoodies has an allotment of both styles retailing for $261 (sun) and $226 (optical) – while they last.
