Filson & Chris Stapleton Launch ‘Traveller’ Collection

A road-ready luggage collab from outdoor brand Filson and the “Traveller” singer.

The road can take quite the toll on even the most hard-charging musicians, so it helps if the gear you bring along is up to the challenge. At a glance, the new Filson x Chris Stapleton Capsule Collection certainly appears up to the task, and it’s designed with plenty of input from the golden-voiced singer himself.

Stapleton, who’s partnered with the likes of Buffalo Trace on a rare single-barrel bourbon, lent his own insight to the legendary, 124-year-old Pacific Northwest brand on the Traveller Collection, which launches on October 5th.

The luggage line features four everyday carry essentials, and echoes the fact that Stapleton regularly wears Filson, including the Tin Cloth Short Lined Cruiser Jacket during an appearance at the 2023 Super Bowl.

The popular country crooner and his crew also use Filson bags on the road, and there appears to be something for everyone with the rugged collection.

“It’s been an incredible process developing the ‘Traveller Collection’ with Filson,” Stapleton said in a statement about the collaboration. “Inspired by my needs on the road and the desire to revive archived Filson pieces, we’ve created products that I genuinely use and love.”

Stapleton noted that his love of the brand dates back to his “formative years,” when his dad would wear Filson gear to go hunting.

“Filson feels like part of my family, and their commitment to lasting craftsmanship aligns perfectly with my values,” he added. “It’s been an honor to collaborate with such a legendary brand that creates products meant to outlive us all.”

The Traveller Collection is anchored by the Rugged Twill Outfitter Bag, a design reborn from the Filson archives, as well as the Stowaway Backpack, made from waxed ripstop cotton from British Millerain.

The Traveller Medium Duffle Bag offers a quick solution for trips both short and long, finished with handsome harness leather accents, while the Traveller Suit Cover is adorned with Stapleton’s initials on the zipper pulls (not to mention Ranger dry-waxed ripstop cotton throughout the piece).

There’s also a  custom Filson graphic tee up for grabs in the meantime, with proceeds supporting the Stapleton-founded Tennessee charity Outlaw State of Kind.
