G-Shock Honors Blue Note Records With Jazzy G-Steel Watch
This ultra-cool timepiece pays tribute to the great American art form.
Casio G-Shock’s latest addition to the G-Steel line of tough-but-luxe stainless steel watches honors the 80th anniversary of legendary jazz label Blue Note Records.
The timepiece gets a sleek black colorway with cool blue accents on the dial and buckle, as well as blue engravings of the G-Shock and Blue Note logos.
A video starring Blue Note artists, including tenor saxophonist Charles Lloyd, drummer Kendrick Scott and producer/DJ Lophiile, accompanied the launch of the arty bauble.
Along with an undeniably smooth aesthetic appeal that’s fit for a bandleader, the GSTB100BNR-1A model is equipped with plenty of tech, including solar-powered charging capabilities, Neo-Brite luminous hands and a super LED light.
A low-energy Bluetooth function allows users to pair the watch with their smartphone to change time zones, monitor battery levels, set alarms and more.
Other standard G-Shock features include:
- 200M water resistance
- Shock resistance
- World time/ dual time display
- 1/100th Sec. Stopwatch
- Countdown Timer
- Daily alarm
The limited-edition G-Shock x Blue Note Records watch drops at select retailers and online for $420 this March.
