There’s nothing quite like hitting the beach with a great book. And doing just that that could be your next job.

Soneva Fushi, a five-star luxury eco resort located on one of the Maldives’ 1,000-plus secluded islands, is looking for a lover of literature to run an on-site bookshop.

Phillip Blackwell, heir to the eponymous chain of British booksellers, is in charge of hiring one lucky person to fill the experimental dream position for three months.

“We want someone on the ground who is creative and inspiring and can maybe get more people to share the pleasure of reading, which is what people enjoy doing on holiday,” Blackwell told the Guardian.

Applicants should have “a passion for books, the ability to engage guests of all ages.” Duties include selecting reads tailored to the tastes to highly educated (and extremely wealthy) clientele, as well as writing “an entertaining and lively blog that captures the exhausting life of a desert island bookseller.”

Housing will be provided near the exclusive resort’s private villas hidden “amongst dense foliage on beaches, with sand as soft as snow.” Rates for guests run from $2,000 nearly $26,000 per night for the nine-bedroom Private Reserve, so running into an A-list celebrity is all but guaranteed.

As for compensation…

“The pay is derisory, but the fringe benefits unparalleled,” Blackwell said. “The role will evolve and it is in part up to you to make the most of this unique opportunity. It’s a dream job for many people. If I was 25 again I would do it.”
