The Swiss watch company’s rarest pieces are out in public and up for sale.

Patek Philippe, the Swiss house that has made watches for everyone from John Lennon to Jay-Z is celebrating its 175th anniversary – and Christie’s is getting in on the action. Christie’s International Watch Department is staging a special auction of Patek pieces on November 9 at its Geneva HQ, featuring 100 of the most important, exclusive and elusive watches from the early 19th century through the 1980s, some worth millions. The focus is on vintage rarities, and 58 of them have never before appeared in public. Here are some highlights from what promises to be the watch event of the year.
