Some iconic designs are too good to leave sitting on the shelf (or in a box), and the OG Puma Clyde Sneakers are a silhouette deserving of another look. NBA legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier famously wore Puma kicks on the court, and to celebrate fifty years of game-changing style, Puma has revamped the trusty sneaker in conjunction with retailer END.

The END. x Puma Clyde OG “Classics” reboot a trendy ’90s sneaker style for a new age, now available in a trio of suede colorways notable for its “hairy” texture.

The Clyde Sneakers were groundbreaking in more ways than one, marking a major endorsement deal that would foreshadow the sneaker deals of today: Clyde allegedly wanted a different color of sneakers for every game.

The current iteration boasts only three colorways, but each is distinctive and vibrant in its own right.

Off the court, Puma notes that the style eventually morphed into a “go-to amongst a variety of subcultures in the years that followed” — five decades on, one might say the brand can certainly back up that statement and illustrious heritage.

Hits of frosted ivory stand out vividly against cool colorways like green Pine Needle or a deep, crisp Navy.

The sneakers feature gold-hued accents, and each pair is also numbered (out of 300 pairs).

Other exclusives are set to follow from both END. and Puma this year, including city-exclusive drops, but sneakerheads can enter a drawing for a coveted pair via END. online starting January 27th.

Turn back the clock to 1973 and mark your calendars accordingly.
