Red Wing and Fragment Design Team up For Elevated Take on Classic American Boot
Kick your boot game up a notch.
In collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara and fragment design, Red Wing Heritage has created new special editions of its classic 4665 Round Toe and 4679 Moc Toe workboot.
The result is a sharp-looking, limited edition boot practical enough to keep your feet warm and dry in the winter and stylish enough to step out on date night.
Extremely limited quantities of both will be available via Instagram, redwingheritage.com, and through a drawing at the Red Wing Heritage retail location in Tribeca (NYC). The Round Toe will be in even more limited distribution, for sale through Thursday, December 19 between 9 am and 5 pm—and only by raffle.
You have to register at the Tribeca store to even get in the drawing, and winners will be notified by email.
In an interview in early 2019 with HighSnobiety, designer Fujiwara said he’d been considering doing something with Red Wing for some time. He’d worn Red Wing boots in the past, he said, and “I bought two pairs recently in Tokyo because I had a conversation with a friend and we talked and thought maybe it’s time to wear Red Wing again.”
Save for the toe structure the styles are similar in construction, with polished black leather, black stitching, and matching laces. They’re dually branded—fragment x Red Wing—and sport white traction soles. You get that classic Red Wing look in a sleek, shiny package.
Pick your Moc Toes up online or at the Red Wing Heritage Store. They’re officially available for sale on December 20, with the Moc Toe retailing for $450 and Round Toe for $400.
