The Season’s Top Shades: Garrett Leight x Boswell

This California style collabo will righteously frame your face and your summer.

Just as there’s a song of summer every year, there’s eyewear that stands out and captures the spirit of the season. We’re still searching for the song of this summer. (And frankly we didn’t care too much for last summer’s, that goofy Robin Thicke number, though the video was entertaining.)


But when it comes to sunglasses, this year our eye is drawn to the elegant but manly frames designed by Garrett Leight California Optical in collaboration with California fashion designer Wairare Boswell (who has custom-designed for the likes of LeBron James and Tyson Chandler), particularly the “Made in America” model.


The frames, available in matte black, tortoise shell, and oxblood, are just a little oversize, so they will comfortably accommodate your chiseled features, and the CR-39 lenses have an antireflective coating for enhanced light protection.


The Made in Americas are versatile enough to complement seersucker, linen, khaki, denim, polo, and beachwear, i.e., the gamut of summer styles. Great for driving, too – especially if you can find your premium summer jam.
