There is an 800-pound gorilla in the room at S.T. Dupont, and he’s covered in brushed gold and red lacquer. The historic French manufacturer of luxe lighters and cigar accessories has debuted its first collaboration with famed visual artist Richard Orlinski, a partnership that blends the Maison’s 152-year heritage with Orlinski’s “Born Wild” sculptural aesthetic.

The new collection marks a stylistic pivot for S.T. Dupont, reinterpreting their signature items—including the Ligne 2 lighter and Line D Eternity pen—through Orlinski’s pop-art lens. Orlinski, who is the world’s best-selling French contemporary artist, is renowned for his “Wild Kong” sculptures that explore the intersection of animal instinct and human culture.

The S.T. Dupont collaborative line integrates that primal energy into functional art, featuring a special “Red” line that utilizes a diagonally engraved guilloché pattern from the lighter brand’s 1970s archives.

For the first time ever, S.T. Dupont has introduced a brushed gold finish to complement Orlinski’s splashy color palette, while the Kong motif appears across the Biggy and Slimmy lighters and the Initial ballpoint pen in chrome and lacquer accents. The series showcases light and texture by utilizing palladium, sandblasted finishes, and polished metals to create a contrast between refined elegance and animalistic inspiration.

A former architect and interior designer, Orlinski‘s monochromatic, diamond-cut sculptures of wild animals are clearly inspired by pop art titans like Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami. He often uses industrial materials such as resin and aluminum to craft bears, panthers, and his favorite subject, Kong. Orlinski’s work has been exhibited at prestigious venues ranging from the Palace of Versailles to Art Basel to the slopes of the French Alps.

“To sculpt the wild is to give matter a soul,” Orlinski declared in a statement shared by the brand. “With S.T. Dupont, I wanted to take this even further – blending my pop, instinctive world with exceptional craftsmanship. This collection is the result of that dialogue between raw power and timeless elegance.”

These limited edition lighters and pens elevate everyday tools into true collectibles. The centerpiece may be a 60-centimeter Wild Kong sculpture in “vintage-patinated bronze” that accompanies the lighter and pen. Smaller versions are also available, crafted in yellow-gold finished bronze and high-performance ceramic coating. The complete collection of lighters and pens is available now through S.T.
