Think pink.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, menswear designer Todd Snyder prefers to stick to the classics, finding ways to leave his mark in the details.

The latest example: his “Sunset Pink” take on the classic New Balance 998, a sneaker silhouette you have seen countless times before…but never quite like this.

Snyder has given the classic dad sneaker an utterly unique colorway, with dusty pink and grey suede along with a seriously eye-catching outsole, which is black with star-like white specs.

There are black rubber details throughout, like that recognizable N logo.

“In traditional menswear, a dose of unexpected color makes for a really dapper, unique look,” Snyder said in a statement. “A bright sneaker like the NB1 Sunset Pink can function as the modern equivalent of a pocket square or tie — an unexpected counterpoint that brings it all together.”

The limited-edition run of 300 pairs went for $218 but promptly sold out. Expect them to resurface online through re-sellers soon.
