These Fully Waterproof Vans Can Brave The Elements All Year Long

Jeff Spicoli would be psyched.

Iconic sneaker brand Vans has long radiated a distinctly summer-y vibe. Maybe that’s because they became classics on the sunburnt feet of SoCal surfers, skaters and beach bros, you know, like Vans superfan Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But Vans just got a major upgrade that makes them totally killer all year round.

Vans partnered with Swiss-based textile maker Schoeller for a far sturdier new waterpoof line that fends off all manner of wet weather.

Yep, we’re talking rain, snow, and even the tears of your enemies.

The most remarkable aspect of the water-busting Vans line is that the sneakers remain breathable despite their water and wind-shielding properties.

They’re made from WB-400 All-In-One Soft-Shell Fabric, which is comprised of two textiles that have been bonded together for extra efficacy.

In all, there are seven new pairs to covet, including iconic silhouettes like Mid Skool Lite LX and the Authentic ’66 Lite LX.

This being Vans, there’s evenan array of eye-popping color options for each model, though we’re still holding out for the O.G. checkerboard slip-ons….
