JetBlue is spreading its wings with new direct flights to Paris and Amsterdam this summer.

The budget-friendly airline recently launched one non-stop flight per day between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). The Paris-bound flight departs New York at 5:09 p.m. daily, arriving in Paris at 6:05 a.m. local time the next day. The U.S.-bound service will depart Paris at 8:55 a.m. local time and arrive in New York at 11:51 a.m. local time the same day.

JetBlue also plans to kick off non-stop flights between Boston and Paris in 2024, and continues its European expansion with nonstop service from JFK Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). Service to Amsterdam from New York begins August 29 and from Boston on September 20.

“We are excited to continue disrupting the transatlantic market and offer business and leisure customers traveling to and from Paris an opportunity to experience our highly acclaimed Mint and Core products in a market that has suffered from high fares by legacy carriers for far too long,” JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes said in a statement.

JetBlue’s new flights will feature Airbus A321LRs with 24 Mint business class seats and 114 economy seats, including 24 with extra legroom. Passengers will have access to a screen at every seat as well as the airline’s signature free Wi-Fi.

To double down on the airline’s JFK-based bonafides, the onboard Mint menu will be curated by New York’s Delicious Hospitality Group, focusing on small plates inspired by popular Manhattan restaurants Charlie Bird, Pasquale Jones and Legacy Records, and cocktails by East Village speakeasy Please Don’t Tell.

Fares for JetBlue’s Core seats start at $499 and first-class Mint suites at $2,499.

Here’s a breakdown of the latest in-flight upgrades from Jayne O’Brien, JetBlue’s head of marketing and loyalty.

JetBlue’s Mint Cabins

“Our Mint cabin features 24 private suites, including two Mint Studios, thoughtfully designed with customer-centric touches that help every customer feel at home in the air. Every Mint seat—the largest lie-flat seat of an U.S. airline measuring 22 inches wide and 76 inches long when fully reclined—is layered with Tuft & Needle’s Adaptive foam and a breathable cover to create a cool and comfortable sleep experience. “

“In addition to our comfortable seats, Mint customers also enjoy full privacy with a sliding door, wireless charging capabilities, easy-to-reach in-seat power, and ample storage. We offer free and fast Wi-Fi on all flights for a multiscreen experience, so our customers are able to maintain their favorite ground activities in the sky.”

“As part of our full Mint refresh in 2021, we also introduced the Mint Studio, which offers the most space in a premium cabin from any U.S. airline. The two Mint Studios in the first row provide ample room for working or relaxing with an extra side table for added productivity and a guest seat. Whether our customers use their time to work, relax, or sleep, we strive to make our Mint experience as personal and comfortable as our their living rooms.”

An Overhead Overhaul

“Our Mint Cabin also received a complete refresh in 2021 with a re-designed welcome area at the front boarding door, upgraded lavatories with antimicrobial surfaces and touchless amenities, and custom LED mood lighting that changes throughout different phases of flight to reduce jet lag.

“In addition to storage for laptops, shoes and personal items within the Mint Suites, the Mint cabin also offers the largest overhead bins on a single-aisle aircraft to accommodate all carry-on items when customers lie back. Every part of the Mint cabin has been thoughtfully designed for maximum comfort as customers travel to Paris.”

Mint Touchscreen Upgrades

“As the only major U.S. airline with seatback screens at every seat, in-flight entertainment is in our DNA. The Mint Suites include a tilting 17-inch Thales AVANT seatback screen and the Mint Studios boast a 22-inch seatback screen—the largest on any U.S. airline—both offering a robust library of free on-demand movies and TV shows, games, satellite radio and other exclusive JetBlue content.

“When JetBlue’s exclusive, first-of-its-kind partnership with Peacock launches later this summer, customers will also be able to tune into a selection of Peacock Originals for free. From the moment customers step onboard, we want them to know they are in a welcoming and personal space. That’s why our seatback screens have personalization functionality, including a welcome seatback greeting the customers by name, special birthday messages and a dynamic seatback experience for TrueBlue loyalty members.

“Customers can also order their complimentary inflight meals from their seatback touchscreens where they are able to peruse and choose from a range of restaurant-style small plates with detailed photos and descriptions, including allergen information.”

The Mint Wellness Kit

“Our wellness kits from Wanderfuel are carefully curated with a rotating selection of personal care items to help customers feel their best throughout the flight. As we are heavily focused on customer-first touches, each kit is tailored to customers’ flight time and destination.”

“For the Paris route, Wanderfuel wellness kits include a lip balm, hydration stick & body wipe. The wellness kit comes combined with a snooze kit containing a toothbrush, mouthwash, socks, and a Tuft & Needle eye mask and earplugs. In addition to the Tuft & Needle lie-flat seats and snooze kits, we also provide Tuft & Needle convertible blanket with a built-in foot pocket and memory-foam pillows, and a memory foam lined pillow with a pillowcase.”
