People love our April cover girlso much, they think they know every little fact about her. We’re here to tell you that there’s plenty you don’t know. Read up and hone your knowledge of all things Topanga!
She hates the word “fan.”
“I don’t know why I have such a hangup about that word. It feels like I’m on a pedestal, and I hate that feeling. So I just consider fans to be friends I haven’t met yet…but who have incredible taste.”
Her one date with Ben Savage was fun, even though it wasn’t romantic.
“Ben was driving, so he must have been 16 and I was probably 15 and a half or something. We had obviously been working together for years and kissing regularly week after week, playing boyfriend and girlfriend, and at some point we were like, ‘Hey, did you ever wonder what it would be like if we actually did date? I mean it would make sense, seeing that we’re together all day every day anyway.’ So we went on a date, and by the time the dinner was over, we realized mutually that we were more like family than real-life lovers, and so we just went about our merry way and never really discussed it again.”
Everyone claims that she dated their friend.
“I think the biggest rumor about me that gets tossed around is, ‘Oh, you dated my friend!’ I’ll be like, ‘Oh, when?’ And they’ll be like, ‘When you were in Orange County.’ And I’ll be like, ‘Well, you know I moved from Orange County when I was ten.’ They’ll say, ‘No, you were living in Calabasas and they were living in Orange County.’ ‘No, sorry,’ I’ll tell them, ‘I didn’t have a 50-mile long distance relationship when I was in junior high. I’m pretty sure that your friend is lying.’”
She loved California Dreams.
“It was on Saturday mornings. They were all in a band, and they were all so cute. It was like a super preppy Saved by the Bell. I didn’t know you could get preppier than Saved by the Bell, but California Dreams did. I wasn’t that huge of a TV watcher, but I did watch all of those shows that people talk about from the ‘90s for sure.”
Minkus might be returning to Girl Meets World.
“I love Lee Norris, and he’s had great success since Boy Meets World ended, and I’d love to see him again. I think that Minkus returning is something that [series creator] Michael Jacobs has thought about, and I think he has some ideas for how it may happen. It has been discussed, that much I’ll say. The thing about Boy Meets World is that really, anything is possible.”
