Happy Birthday, Gina Carano

The MMA powerhouse and ‘Deadpool’ actress is 34 today.

Years before Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm faced down in one of the most watched fights in MMA history, Gina Carano was kicking ass and taking names. In August 2009, Carano fought Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos in the first major MMA event headlined by two women, and while Carano lost the match, she cemented her status as a force to be reckoned with.

Since then, Carano’s shifted towards acting, most recently appearing as the super-strong Angel Dust in anti-superhero smash Deadpool. While it’s Carano’s most visible role to date, we’re waiting with bated breath to see who’s face Carano destroys in her future turns on the silver screen.
