Happy Birthday, Taylor Swift

On this day in 1989, one of this generation’s most prominent pop stars was born in the sleepy town of Reading, Pennsylvania.

No one could have guessed that upon making the move to Music City (a.k.a. Nashville) and penning her country chart-topping debut album’s third single “Our Song,” Taylor Swift would go on to become one of the best-selling musical artists of the 2000s.

When she’s not busy pumping out platinum-certified albums, she’s collecting awards to add to an already gigantic trophy case that includes ten Grammy Awards, 23 Billboard Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, and an Emmy she won as the star and executive producer of AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience.
