The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ vixen talks feeling her sexiest, being on reality TV, and what’s next.
After extending her hand to a friend in an uncomfortable situation, Ariana Madix found herself in the middle of drama she was hoping to avoid. “At the time Vanderpump Rules was created, I was working at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills,” she told Maxim. “Scheana and I were great friends and when she was iced out by the girls at SUR, she urged me to ask Lisa if I could begin working there as well.”
The bar in-question, SUR, is the focal point for all the makeups, breakups, and other absurd debauchery that goes down on Vanderpump Rules, Bravo’s addicting reality series that’s been around for four seasons. Though most reality shows are at fault when it comes to their authenticity, Ariana insists that what you see is exactly what you get for this show. “The relationships, friendships, and drama are all real and I think that’s a unique quality Vanderpump Rules possesses,” she said. “It’s an aspect that makes the show amazing to watch and painful to film at times.”
Despite being attached to the life of unscripted television, this blonde bombshell is fully prepared to take the entertainment industry by storm. The up-and-comer’s experience in the comedy realm, combined with her growing resumé (including episodes of Dads, Anger Management, and four feature films) has proven she’s way more than just a gorgeous face. Her life-changing role just hasn’t been written yet.
“I’ve spent my whole life dreaming of being Grace Kelly or Brigitte Bardot, but my favorite fictional characters lean more towards Furiosa, Maggie from The Walking Dead, or Regina George. Roll all of that together, put it on horseback, throw in some laughs and beautiful cinematography and you have a confusing impression of my dream role. Wait. Can I also have a musical number? In outer space?”

Ariana spoke with Maxim about not giving a fuck, a good ‘ol Coors Light, and feeling her sexiest.
1. What is your favorite curse word to use?
‘Fuck.’ It knows no bounds. It’s positive and negative, it’s exuberant, and it’s fun.
2. What do you wear to feel your sexiest?
Nothing on top and those little shorts underwear. It’s what I usually sleep in and I feel sexiest when I wake up in the morning.
3. Do you have a go-to drink of choice?
I like good wine and spicy margaritas, but on any given day, I’m probably drinking a Coors Light. I’m fancy like that.
4. What would you say is your favorite part of your body?
My butt or my stomach.
5. How can a guy get your attention?
Don’t give too many fucks, make me laugh, be chill and kind.
6. Do you have any girl crushes right now?
I have a serious crush on every single one of my girl friends, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amy Poehler, and Stella Maxwell. Britney is less of a crush, more idol worship.
7. Describe your ideal date.
Let’s get together with a couple of your friends and a couple of mine (not actual couples) for some casual food and drinks and then go off on our own adventure. Wherever the mood takes us. I like a plan with flexibility.
8. If you had to pick a favorite food, what would it be?
I try new foods as much as I possibly can and the newest is usually the current favorite. I had fried green tomato eggs Benedict the other morning and I was in hangover heaven. Put hot sauce on anything and I’m in.
9. What’s your opinion on your man’s style or how he dresses?
He can wear whatever the hell he likes. If you feel good, you look good. Just no body parts hanging out, please.
10. So what’s next for you?
I’m branching out. I love acting and I want to continue, but it’s time to create my own material. I’m going to be writing and producing, podcasting, and I’m looking to start showing horses again. Giddy up.
