Laura Royo is a true triple threat. The Spanish stunner got her start as a model when she walked in a Revlon runway show at age 16. At 21, Royo was voted Miss Face of Navarre—a city located just North of her hometown—in the Miss Spain beauty pageant before going on to pose on Mexican variety shows and in ads for Playboy Malibu cologne.
As a thespian, Royo studied under Susan Batson, an acting coach who’s also trained Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. She recently appeared in Hari Sama’s This Is Not Berlin, a Spanish-speaking coming-of-age movie that’s received critical acclaim in the United States. How can a man get your attention?
The first thing that catches my attention is his presence, then his class. Also, a man should know how to communicate with respect and sympathy.
How do you let a man know that you are interested?
If I look into his eyes, it’s s a sign that I’m interested. First, I like to talk about anything, if I like him I don’t hide it, I smile at him. I think that when someone can’t stop looking at you, it’s because there is some type of connection and interest. Although I admit that sometimes when I like a man, I get shy.
Tell us about your dream date.
A good jazz concert, a dinner in a quiet place, drinking wine, chatting… in general enjoying a pleasant atmosphere. But the most important thing is the company; that’s what really determines whether a date is a disaster or something you want to repeat.
What about a man turns you on the most?
Ha, this is getting more interesting! It all depends on the moment. Something may unexpectedly turn you on, but it’s not the right moment, then try not to force things and just let them happen.
When do you feel sexiest?
When I go to the sea, I feel very relaxed and the warm weather makes me feel more feminine, as does getting a massage, going to the spa, wearing some heels and a tight dress, or letting my hair down. It always helps to have a glass of good wine or champagne.
Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
I have always loved Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Madonna also fascinates me, and I’ve loved Lenny Kravitz since I was a teenager.
What’s on your favorite music playlist?
I have different music for different moments depending on my mood. I listen to everything from 70s, 80s and 90s music to Flamenco, pop and R&B.

Do you have a favorite athlete or sports team?
I was always faithful to Osasuna soccer club, the city team from my hometown. As a child, I played in a women’s indoors soccer team and that began my love for the sport, although when I moved to Madrid I became a fan of Real Madrid and the Spanish national soccer team, of course. I was in Madrid when they won the World Cup—that was a great day! And when I go to Mexico, I follow Los Pumas UNAM.
What fashion brands do you like?
I really like to follow trends and I look at new designers. I love custom-made clothes—they feel more personal. I would never wear a design that I don’t like just to wear a brand. But the most important thing is that clothes feel comfortable and go with your personality.
What’s your favorite meal or food?
Spanish food. A Spanish omelet like the one my grandmother used to cook, or some good croquettes like my mother’s. Whenever I leave, she makes them for me. If I go to dinner, I love Italian food, a good risotto, pasta with truffle sauce, or a good ceviche. Vegan food is also great.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the bedroom?
Sleep. I also spend days laying on my bed studying a character or a script, listening to music, writing, painting and reading.
And what should a man never do in the bedroom?
Talk on the phone, work, or check social media. I think it is very important to leave those outside and create an area of rest and relaxation.
Have any sexy fantasies?
It would turn me on a lot to do something that I’ve never tried. I am a person with imagination, so if you propose a game that catches my attention, I’ll play along.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate? And definitely buying underwear. There are collections that are amazing and the worst is trying to decide on a style. Whenever I go shopping, I end up buying more that I was supposed to.
