Isla Fisher Gets Down With Nocturnal Animals

The sultry redhead will join Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams in the Tom Ford drama.

We haven’t seen gorgeous redhead Isla Fisher in a high-profile film since 2013’s the Great Gatsby, but that’s about to change: Fisher has signed on to co-star in Nocturnal Animals, the Tom Ford-directed adaptation of Austin Wright’s novel Tony and Susan.

The plot is a little complicated. Fisher’s role in the movie basically exists in the imagination of Susan Morrow (Adams), the ex-wife of a novelist who mysteriously receives a copy of his first manuscript in the mail. The drama of the novel unfolds through the point of view of Adams’ character as she reads. Fisher plays Laura, the wife of the novel’s protagonist, Tony (Gyllenhaal).

“As she reads, she is drawn into the fictional life of Tony Hastings ,” Deadline reports. “As his ordinary life is violently set off course, Susan is forced to confront her own past.”

Ford made his directing debut with the excellent 2009 drama A Single Man, starring Colin Firth, Matthew Goode and Julianne Moore. It sure seems like Ford, the former creative director for Gucci, has an appreciation for red-headed women.

Fisher rose to fame with roles in Wedding Crashers, I Heart Huckabees, and Definitely Maybe. She also appeared on the small screen in Arrested Development and Bored to Death. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the film.
