Bill Murray Led World Series Game 3 Singing ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ And it Was Epic

Murray—a Chicago Cubs super fan—probably left the game disappointed.

This is the World Series of a lifetime for Chicago Cubs fans like comedy icon Bill Murray. During Game 3, the first Fall Classic matchup played at Wrigley Field in 71 years, Murray got to celebrate with the packed stadium as only he could, with a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

Murray’s stint as song leader was perfectly timed at the 7th inning stretch, because the game was otherwise a tense pitching duel between the Cleveland Indians and Cubs, the game remaining scoreless until the 7th, when the Indians took a 1-point lead—which they held onto, winning 1-0.

So unfortunately Murray and the rest of the Cubs fans went home disappointed.

They’ll be back at Wrigley again for Game 4 on Saturday and if there is any good news for Murray, at least, it’s that we’ve finally moved on from trying to figure out if a certain viral image of a man imitating a crying baby is him, or Tom Hanks. (Spoiler: the photo is definitely Bill Murray.)
