A very happy birthday to one of the hottest women on the planet.

Despite our annual christening of the hottest woman in the world, we usually don’t like to play favorites. It can make us uncomfortable when there are just so many beautiful and bold women out there (s/o to all the Independent Women).

But Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has become truly special to us. Aside from posing for our December 2015 issue, she most recently served as Maxim’s “Special Lifestyle Editor,” for which she offered up her best vacation advice from her endless travels.

So we must commemorate Alessandra’s 38th birthday. And what better way that with her Maxim cover shoot?

Alessandra first came on the scene in the early 2000s, when the fashion world opened its floodgates to the Brazilian bombshell wave. Alongside exotic beauties Adriana Lima and Gisele Bündchen, Alessandra proved her aptitude to looking killer in barely-there swimwear and stalking catwalks with those endless legs.

Despite her stint as a Victoria’s Secret angel and top model, she is still at heart a girl from the South of Brazil. As she told us in December 2015, she prefers denim shorts and T-shirts to elegant gowns and her grandmother’s gluten-packed Polish dumplings to champagne and caviar.
