The Daily Heat Index: ‘Creed’ Star Tessa Thompson in Talks to Join Natalie Portman in ‘Annihilation’

Watch Out for Tessa Thompson
All eyes might have been on Michael B. Jordan in Creed, but now it’s his co-star Tessa Thompson’s turn to stand in the spotlight. The talented actress, known for her supporting roles in Dear White People and Selma, is in talks to join the all-star cast of Alex Garland’s sci-fi flick, Annihilation. According to TheWrap, Thompson is “being eyed to join Oscar winner Natalie Portman and Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez” in this novel adaptation about four women on a dangerous mission where nothing is as it should be. With a cast as stacked as this one appears, we’re less concerned about the plot and more concerned about how soon we can buy tickets.

Deadpool is Looking for Love
Who said Deadpool wasn’t a love story? In a new promo (which aired during the newest episode of The Bachelor), Wade Wilson sits spread eagle with a rose, telling audiences that the real plot involves the pursuit of his kidnapped girlfriend, played by Morena Baccarin. To say this qualifies it as a cheesy rom-com is a stretch, but the Merc with a Mouth wants people to know that despite his mercenary-like tendencies, he’s a lover, not a fighter.. most of the time.

Broken Resolutions
Despite full-on dedication, the chances of you actually keeping up with your New Year’s resolutions are extremely slim. While some stick to their personal vows earlier than others, chances of you actually waking up at 6 a.m. for that early morning run are highly doubtful. On Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel had people take to the streets in order to find out just who managed to stick their word a few days into 2016. The results? Not so surprising.
