Here’s What’s Coming to and Leaving Netflix in December
‘Tis the season to Netflix and chill.
December promises to be a great month for anyone who ever wanted to see Henry “Superman” Cavill dressed up like a Tolkien elf.
Of course, Cavill’s new Netflix series The Witcher has little to do with Tolkien, even though it’s kind of in the same fantasy style. No, the series that begins December 20 is about (according to Netflix), “Geralt, a mutated monster hunter,” who is struggling “to find his place in a world in which people often prove more wicked than beasts.”
Witcher is based on a series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski and the franchise has already proven enormously popular, having been made into video games, movies, and graphic novels. Anticipation naturally seems pretty high.
But let’s not overlook what else the streaming service has in store–also coming to Netflix in December are all the Austin Powers movies, 6 Underground, a new action flick starring Ryan Reynolds, directed by Michael Bay, and the one flick we’ve all been waiting for, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
Unfortunately, we’re losing some good stuff as well, including Thor: Ragnarok, all the Rocky movies, and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, seasons 7 through 11.
