Johnny Knoxville Lost Teeth, Got Four Concussions and Popped His Eye Out While Filming ‘Action Point’

“I got hurt more on this film than any film I’ve ever done.”

It’s hard to believe Johnny Knoxville’s body made it through the Jackass years in working condition. What’s even more incredible is that the 47-year-old says he took the biggest beating of his life while filming Action Point.

The movie depicts real, Jackass-style stunts set in a dangerously dilapidated theme park—stunts that took a heavy toll on its star.

“I got hurt more on this film than any film I’ve ever done,” he told New York magazine at this year’s Vulture Festival. “I got four concussions, broke my wrist, busted my knee, got stitches, whiplash, uh, lost two and half teeth.”

Knoxville’s most gruesome injury was sustained off the set.

“Once I got home from the emergency room after one bad concussion … I had blood in my nose so I blew my nose,” he told the crowd. “When I did, my left eye popped out of the socket.”

The daredevil had completely shattered his eye socket.

“They say I didn’t break it, it disappeared on impact, so when I was blowing my nose I was blowing air around my eyeball pushing it out.”

As far as we know, no one was killed in Action Point. The same can’t be said about Action Park, the notoriously lethal New Jersey amusement park that inspired the forthcoming movie and this viral mini-documentary.

See if footage of Knoxville’s injuries made it past the cutting room floor when Action Point hits theaters June 1.
