Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’ Star Kumail Nanjiani Reveals Shredded Body, And The Rock Approves

“I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are.”

Kumail Nanjiani is nearly unrecognizable from the neck down in a pair of “thirsty shirtless” snaps that show off his newly-ripped physique.

After a year of strict dieting and exercise, the 41-year-old star of Marvel’s The Eternals and HBO’s Silicon Valley revealed six-pack abs, deep-cut deltoids, bulging biceps and an impressive amount of vascularity.

“I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are,” Nanjiani captioned the photos.

“I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.”

Nanjiani went on to thank his trainers and nutritionists for “making me strong, limber and injury free,” as well as his wife, writer and producer Emily V. Gordon, for “putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting.”

Gordon responded to a retweet of her hulking hubbie’s pic’s on Twitter, writing, “My husband works hard for every role he takes, but he’s worked hard in many new ways for this one. I’m so proud of him. I always have been.”

Meanwhile, the photos’ comments section was filled with praise from celebrities, including two other totally yoked talents. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wrote, “Extremely hard work. Dense muscle is hard to achieve. Looking great my brother!”

It’s Always Sunny and Philadelphia writer, actor and co-creator Rob McElhenney, who famously went through an extreme body transformation of his own to take his character from “fat Mac” to “jacked Mac” for season 13 of the long-running sitcom, also chimed in.

“It goes without saying that I support this with every fiber of my being. A gauntlet has been thrown and a new bar set,” McElhenney wrote. “In related news I have a movie pitch for you about two actors who ruin their comedy careers by getting fit but in the process truly find themselves. I’ll call you right after I fit in the four hour workout I must do now. Bless you.”

Nanjiani will join a star-studded cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Don Lee, Lia McHugh and Brian Tyree Henry in the The Eternals, which is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2020.
