When action god Michael Bay picks a new woman to star in a Transformers movie, men (and machines) across the universe sit up and take notice. After all, this is the guy who gave us Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to stare at when we weren’t focusing on giant intergalactic transforming robots. So say hello to gorgeous Chinese action star Li Bingbing, who has just been cast alongside Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, and Kelsey Grammer in next summer’s Transformers 4.
Best known stateside for her role as butt-kicking Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Retribution, Li says she’s “thrilled to get to work with Michael Bay. Transformers has influenced generations in China.” As for what the next installment of the franchise holds in store for Optimus Prime and his metallic muchachos, your guess is as good as ours. We do know that portions of the film are being shot in China, though, so at least Li won’t have a long commute…
Transformers 4 hits theaters June 27th, 2014.
