Michelle Rodriguez Will Play a Gender-Swapping Assassin in Tomboy
In her first leading role in years, Rodriguez will star as an assassin who switches genders to avoid detection.
Michelle Rodriguez has signed on to her first starring role in years as an hitman-turned-hitwoman on the run in Tomboy.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
The script, written by [director Walter] Hill from a story by Denis Hamill, centers on an ace assassin who is double-crossed by gangsters and falls into the hands of rogue surgeon known as ‘The Doctor,’ who turns him into a woman. The hitman (now a hitwoman) sets out for revenge, aided by a nurse named Johnnie, who also has secrets.
The rogue surgeon will be played by none other than Sigourney Weaver, who recently announced she’d be joining the Ghostbusters reboot.
Rodriguez, best known for supporting roles on the show Lost and the Fast & Furious franchise, had her last major starring role in Girlfight in 2000. We’re looking forward to watching her kick some ass again.
