“Whoomp! There It Is” Still Makes $500,000 a Year

No, we are not joking.

Not to be confused with Jurassic Park’s Malcolm’s “Well, there it is,” “Whoomp! There It Is” was a smash hit single in 1993, reaching #2 on the Billboard top 100. If you weren’t around for the original release, you’ve probably heard Tag Team’s historic work performed at sports arenas or on sundry Jock Jams compilations albums. And if that still doesn’t ring a bell, take a quick listen to this timeless classic now:

Because “Whoomp!” is 20-years-old – and because magazine editors gently touch themselves at night while furiously researching what anniversaries are coming up – there is an excellent feature all about the famous song at 5280 Magazine. Here are some amazing takeaways from the story:
