AC/DC Launches ‘For Those About to Rock’ Ale In 33 States
For those about to drink, we salute you.
Attention, AC/DC fans: The legendary hard rock band’s new “For Those About To Rock Ale” is now available in the United States.
Brewed in collaboration with New York’s Great South Bay Brewery, the 5.9-percent ABV beer named after the Australian outfit’s 1981 hit is said to possess “a clean, citrusy hop profile, subtle malty sweetness, and a bright straw color.”
Those thirst-inducing traits are reportedly derived from “traditional Australian brewing methods” and the country’s own hops and cane sugar. Meanwhile, the new can’s familiar imagery features the same Napoleonic cannons seen on the classic album cover.
AC/DC has collaborated on brews before, releasing an on-brand TNT Double IPA and PWR UP Juicy IPA in 2021. Those are named for the iconic 1975 single and the band’s most recent 17th album, respectively.
But For Those About To Rock Ale marks the first collab with Great South Bay Brewery.
“Walk into any venue in the world and you’ll bear witness to the seemingly natural pairing of beer and music. In fact, I would venture to guess, that since the invention of alcohol, consumption of beer and creation of music has been done in tandem,” said Great South Bay Brewery co-owner Chris West.
“To say that we are excited about what we have been able to come together and create would be a massive understatement. ”
