Michael Jordan Is Officially A Billionaire

Forbes welcomed the legendary basketball player to their billionaire’s club. 

Michael Jordan is one of the 290 newcomers to on this year’s Forbes ranking of the world’s billionaires. Jordan, 52, came in at #1741 with an estimated net worth of $1 billion. Most of his fortune comes from Nike payouts ($90 million in 2013 alone), along with his $500 million stake in the Charlotte Hornets. No word on how his Space Jam royalties contributed to his first billion.

The rankings also contained good news for Bill Gates, who’s in the top spot for the second year in a row. Gates, with an estimated net worth of $79.2 billion, has topped the list for sixteen of the past twenty-one years.

The nineties will never end.
