Meet Rising Model Natasja Madsen

In 2022, Maxim tapped Natasja Madsen as one of a handful of “Model Citizens” featured on the annual Hot 100. In 2024, we’re happy to report that the staggeringly beautiful Danish model’s star has only continued to rise.
Mind you, Madsen was well on her way to supermodel status two years ago. She’d already been featured on the covers of Vogue Paris, Vogue Russia and Harper’s Bazaar Russia… by age 24, no less.
The IMG-repped stunner has since walked for Louis Vuitton multiple times; appeared in editorials for Esquire and Vogue China; and starred in ads for Urban Outfitters, Kay Jewelers, and, most recently, Lee.
Like many of today’s models, her Instagram feed (give her a follow @natasjamadsen) offers a mix of eye-popping selects from her portfolio alongside impromptu snapshots of her personal life, from Nordic getaways and beachy photo opps to Bimmer test drives and bikini-clad dog walks.

What are some of your favorite professional experiences?
I’ve been working with great photographers on projects. The book shot for Frame denim [in 2021] is still a favorite of mine—it was shot in Portugal where I lived at the time. Also, being on the covers of Vogue has been a major career highlight.
How do you let someone know you’re interested?
They’ll know, but I don’t really date normally. I like to get to know someone organically. The concept of a date is awkward to me.
Who’s your biggest celebrity crush?
Kurt Cobain.
Have you ever been starstruck by a celebrity?
I have not because all of my idols are dead. However, if Kurt Cobain or Mia Zapata are somehow still alive, I would be starstruck meeting them.
What’s on your favorite music playlist?
Punk rock from the ’90s. I pretty much spent the whole pandemic creating playlists. My Spotify playlist “The Friendly and Unfriendly” has 550 hours of my favorite music.
What TV shows and movies have you been watching lately?
I love Curb Your Enthusiasm so that is always on. Lately I have been watching a lot of Gus Van Sant movies. [Director] Lars Von Trier and 90s films [from the Dogme 95 movement] are another favorite of mine.
What fashion brands do you like to wear?
I pretty much only wear vintage. However, I do love the brands I work with, and I wear their stuff as well. But you usually will see me in vintage Dior, Saint Laurent, Fendi, Vivienne Westwood, and a mix of ’90s brands.
What’s your absolute favorite food or meal?
Ethiopian food and Danish smørrebrød.
Favorite travel destination?
Somewhere remote with a lot of nature. The more undiscovered the better. I love exploring and experiencing new places.
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
Snacks of all kinds.

I would tell girls to be authentic to themselves, think smart, and value the people that want the best for you.
