Hennessey Transforms Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Into Fearsome 1,000 HP Beast

Mustang Goals.

Hennessey Performance is ushering the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 into the 1,000-horsepower club, as it did with the Jeep Gladiator, C8 Chevy Corvette Stingray, and even Dodge Durango.

As Hi Consumption notes, Ford’s superlative ‘Stang comes loaded stock with 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8. To achieve four-figure horses and 850 pound-feet of torque (on E85 fuel), the Texas tuner upgrades numerous engine components, including the supercharger’s drive pulley, belt, and hub assemblies.

Other additions include high-flow fuel injectors, anodized billet fuel rails, a new fuel line, and a better intercooler cooling brick, along with requisite engine and transmission calibrations.

The result of these tweaks? An blistering monster of a muscle car in the 5,000-8,000 rev range especially, and a helluva roar to boot.

Apart from a few Hennessey badges and a Venom 1000 placard, the design isn’t all that different. The recommendation to customers is to opt for the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, which reduces weight with a rear-seat delete, 20-inch carbon fiber wheels, and a quad exhaust.

No prices were announced, but it’ll likely be a six-figure job for Hennessey’s work plus the price of the donor car (around $77,000.) Click here to inquire.
