Lucid Motors Unveils ‘Stealth Look’ Edition Of 1,050-HP EV
America’s “most powerful” electric car is back in black.
A new “Stealth Look” from California’s Lucid Motors is making the most powerful electric vehicle currently available in North America even more menacing.
That’s the inevitable effect of any black paint coat, though Lucid seems to be going for more of a luxury feel by comparing the package’s application to the speculaire black polishing technique employed in horology and fine jewelry.
Available on the 620-hp Lucid Air, 819-hp Air Grand Touring and 1,050-hp Air Grand Touring Performance (but not the base Lucid Air), Stealth Look replaces standard platinum with dark finishes on 35 exterior components, including the nose blade, C-pillar flags, the lower, fascia and headlight trim, and the mirror caps.
Depending on the Air variant selected, Stealth Look also comes with either 21 or 20-inch rims with satin black inserts.
Customers can opt for a completely murdered-out look by pairing Stealth Look with an Infinite Black base coat, or create some sinister contrast with Stellar White, Cosmos Silver, Quantum Grey, and Zenith Red.
Stealth Look’s announcement follows another buzzy performance benchmark for the Air Grand Touring Performance. After Lucid Motors pointed out that the spec is “most powerful electric vehicle currently available in North America” in April, a 100-percent stock example beat out every other production competitor at the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s Hillclimb event in the extremely capable hands of Ben Collins, Top Gear’s original secret “Stig” test driver.
“Lucid Air is undeniably one of the highest-performance vehicles on the road as exemplified by the Air Grand Touring Performance, with 1,050 horsepower, which secured the title of fastest production car in the Hillclimb Timed Shootout at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed,” said Derek Jenkins, SVP of Design and Brand, Lucid Group. “The sinister style of Stealth Look is a perfect complement.”
Lucid Motors’ Stealth Look option will be available in 2023 for $6,000 in addition to the base prices of the Air Touring ($95,000), Air Grand Touring ($139,000) and Air Grand Touring Performance ($179,000).
