The Ford F-150 By Mil-Spec Is a Seriously Tough Tactical Truck
America’s top-selling vehicle gets a 500 horsepower custom upgrade.
Mil-Spec Automotive is the latest aftermarket specialist to trick out the popular Ford F-150.
The Michigan-based outfit’s mod of the country’s best-selling vehicle was developed by the same team behind that did its custom Hummer H1. While not quite as potent as the Hennessey Performance’s “Venom 775” F-150, Mil-Spec did tune the pickup’s 5.0-liter V8 to produce 500 horsepower.
The bolstered engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with a four-wheel drive shift-on-the-fly transfer case, allowing drivers to choose between four-high, four-low or two-high power delivery settings.
The standard build features a wide body, aggressive front and rear bumpers, custom front fascia, high-intensity LED lighting, and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in off-road rubber.
An optional $8,000 Baja Appearance Package includes a low-profile roof rack, bed-mounted chase rack with a spare tire carrier and dual light pod systems, while a $6,500 Baja Suspension Package increases front and rear wheel travel by 11 and 12 inches, adds extra track width, and finishes hardware in black powder with anodized aluminum accents.
The Mil-Spec Automotive F-150 starts at $85,000 and includes Ford’s three-year/36,000-mile warranty, five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and five-year roadside assistance program. Click here to learn more.
