Highest-Paid NFL Players Of 2022: Tom Brady Leads List For First Time Ever
Brady’s lucrative off-the-field earnings helped him crush the competition.
Tom Brady is the highest-earning player in the NFL for the first time since Forbes starting ranking pro football salaries in 2010.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback made $30 million on the field in his 23rd professional season, but thanks to his lucrative business endeavors–including multiple endorsement deals, an NFT company, a clothing line and a wellness and nutrition brand–Brady will pull in $75 million overall this year.
That makes Touchdown Tom the NFL’s top earner of 2022 ahead of Matthew Stafford ($65.5 million), Aaron Rodgers ($53 million), Patrick Mahomes ($51.5 million) and Josh Allen ($51 million), according to Forbes, which points out that all of the highest-paid players are quarterbacks for the first time.
Brady, 45, who recently took an 11-day break from Bucs practices to address “personal things,” is not only still favored as a top Super Bowl contender by MaximBet, but also stands to make even more in retirement than he did playing football.
After Fox Sports announced in May that the seven-time Super Bowl champ will be replacing Troy Aikman as the network’s lead NFL analyst following a final year with the Bucs, the New York Post reported that Brady’s 10-year Fox deal will rake in a whopping $375 million.
