Outfitted: Robbie Amell

The Canadian Flash actor is heating up in Hollywood.

Robbie Amell had no idea his life would change after landing a gig opposite Steve Martin in Cheaper by the Dozen 2. He still planned to be a physical therapist – even if he was quietly hoping for a different fate. Here’s what happened instead: The movie came out and Hollywood noticed him. Screaming fans weren’t knocking down his door, but opportunities opened up and he booked roles on Revenge, Pretty Little Liars, and The Tomorrow People. Then he got his big break as Ronnie Raymond, better known to DC comic book nerds as “Firestorm” on the hit CW series, The Flash. “I’m the first one to bring this character to life and I get to put my own stamp on it, which is unbelievable,” Robbie says. With a blossoming acting career, and a beautiful fiancée on his arm, Amell is looking forward.

“I’ve got The Duff coming out real soon, which is awesome,” he says. “I have another movie coming out where I play a marine. I have so much respect for our military and servicemen and women so it was nice to spend time with marines and shoot a movie. it’s called Max. I’m sure I’ll be back on The Flash at some point. I’m just taking some meetings and reading some scripts; hopefully one or two of ‘em hit.”

Robbie gave Maxim some tips on growing a beard, where to buy the best suit, and how not to embarrass yourself when meeting the irresistible Kate Beckinsale.
