Singer Demi Lovato is one of the most honest entertainers on stage today. She's frank about subjects a lot of stars would rather sidestep: sexuality, health, and addiction. In a Friday concert with DJ Khaled at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, she celebrated six years drug and alcohol-free and gave the audience an inspiring look at her experience.

Khaled spoke of what an inspiration she's been in her effort to stay clean and sober reports the AP, and led the crowd in a chorus of "Happy Birthday."

Her emotion obvious, the AP reports Demi was frank with her audience about when she realized she had to make a change:

“Six years ago, I was drinking vodka out of a Sprite bottle at 9 in the morning, throwing up in the car,” Lovato said. “So, I took a look at my life and I said, ‘Something has to change, I’ve got to get sober.’ So, I did.” “Thank you for being a part of saving my life. I love you guys...”

She then launched into "Warriors," probably the perfect song at that point.

Demi Lovato's strength seems obvious in videos for her songs and on her Instagram feed. She's a powerful woman who's not afraid to be who she wants to be.

Shots from her Insta below demonstrate she's fully confident in her bold sexuality and they exemplify the strength she's shown in fighting addiction. Enjoy.
