Aren't you from Long Island?

On Wednesday, gossip blogger Perez Hilton posted this video and made an observation with which it was hard to disagree: Lindsay Lohan doesn't sound like herself. Not that she's having a rough time; she literally has a different accent.

People do tend to sponge regional inflections and sound slightly different over time as they move from place to place, but it sounds like Lindsay has gone full Madonna and straight-up adopted a different, decidedly more Euro-sounding manner of speaking.

We love Lindsay so no criticism is intended—we just couldn't help but be curious. Fortunately, she owned up to the change and explained what was up with her new sound to the Daily Mail

...[The] now-London based actress put it down to a thirst for leaning languages, but no doubt her trans-European lifestyle also is partially to blame.

Lindsay told the "It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn."

And for those wondering at home, the pop culture icon is well on her way to knowing six languages fluently.

Lindsay listed some of those languages for the Mail: "I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian, and Arabic."

Mystery solved—Lindsay Lohan sounds like that now because she has become a true world citizen.

We'd also bet five bucks that's five more languages than Madonna ever learned.
