Hailey Bieber Just Designed Her Dream Jeans For Gap
The model and entrepreneur partnered with Gap on a ’90s-inspired denim drop.

Hailey Bieber is nodding to her birth decade with a ’90s-inspired style capsule putting her own twist on her favorite pairs of Gap denim, now dubbed the “Hailey Jean.”

As ELLE notes, the 29-year-old entrepreneur, model and former Maxim cover star is already a major fan of affordable relaxed fit Gap jeans. And in keeping with the more easygoing climes of the fashion world today, a duo of new styles play off Bieber’s love of denim from the iconic fashion brand.

Bieber, who founded the wildly successful $1 billion skincare brand Rhode, partnered with the long-running outfitter on the Extra Baggy and Low Rise Loose Jean. Both styles reflect “the effortless attitude of the late ’90s and the Gap silhouettes that Hailey naturally wears in real life,” the company said. Each denim offering comes in three custom washes for $89 each as of this morning, and the Low Rise Loose jeans are an online-only exclusive.

The stunning Skims campaign star said the two relaxed-fit offerings are a natural homage to her two favorite pairs of vintage Gap jeans. Hailey’s birth year of 1996 also nods to what the company calls “a defining era for Gap denim.” Bieber’s fashion sense played a large part in dreaming up the final product, as each pair of jeans feature her signature printed inside the pocket lining.

“This project came together very organically because Gap has always been a part of my wardrobe,” Bieber said. “1996 has always felt iconic to me because there was something so effortless about that era and the way people wore denim. We wanted the campaign and the product to capture that same feeling in a way that felt modern, understated and personal.” A still photography campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti and styled by fashion and image consultant Alastair McKimm also nods to 1996, featuring Bieber in classic Gap tees and her new favorite jeans.

The gorgeous former Yves St. Laurent campaign star also keeps plenty busy as an occasional muse for pop star husband Justin Bieber’s SKYLRK line. This time around, Hailey leads an accompanying Gap campaign film directed by Charlie Di Placido debuting the two new styles.

Set in a ’90s-era reimagined bedroom, legendary hit “Linger” by The Cranberries soundtracks the short feature. A dash of throwback fashion that remaisn surprisingly fresh is up for grabs starting today at Gap, and one can only imagine they’ll pop up in the wild on Bieber’s Instagram soon rather than later.
