Sydney Sweeney To Star In New Movie Adaptation Of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’
The “Euphoria” bombshell will star in Lindsey Anderson Beer’s “Hollow,” which is said to “blend gothic and erotic thriller elements.”

Hot on the heels of a stunning end to Euphoria Season 3, Sydney Sweeney is wasting no time getting back into action as she joins a 21st-century film adaptation of 1820 classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Sweeney becomes the biggest name to join the forthcoming adaptation of Lindsey Anderson Beer’s debut novel Hollow, with the filmmaker and author set to write and direct the adaptation. Sweeney’s new production company, Honey Trap, will also produce in another big leap for the actress, model and entrepreneur.

Sweeney certainly wasted no time in getting into the world of producing, as industry insider publication Deadline first shared news of the venture the day after the heart-racing Euphoria series finale. The Anyone But You star and her production company will benefit from a first-look deal with Sony.

Suffice to say, the Maxim Hot 100 bombshell is keeping plenty busy, including work on her jaw-dropping new lingerie brand, SYRN. Beer previously directed 2023 feature Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, while the iconic 1820 short story was previously adapted for the big screen in 1999 by Tim Burton and starred Christina Ricci alongside Johnny Depp in a moody retelling.

Sweeney last graced the silver screen in sultry fashion in 2025 thriller The Housemaid, which is already set to get the sequel treatment late next year. In the second installment, actress Kirsten Dunst is poised to join the American Eagle campaign star in a sequel to a flick that proved a box office success.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that, at first glimpse, its writer Beer is “aiming to blend gothic and erotic thriller elements,” with Sweeney taking on the role of Katrina Van Tassel. In the book and its film adaptation, Van Tassel receives attention from both from Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones. Suffice to say, Sweeney’s acting chops are rounding into fine form.
